Do I need to have any boating experience?
No. All customers will be given full tuition before leaving the marina. No licences are necessary to hire our boats.
Is there a minimum age for hiring a boat?
We recommend that the group leader be at least 21 years old.
What is included in the cost of my hire?
Everything is included except your fuel and any extras such as outboards, bikes, tvs etc that you choose. You must also pay a returnable damage deposit the amount varies with the class of boat.
All bedding, towels and kitchen equipment is provided including washing-up liquid and dish towels.
There are no charges for use of the majority of marinas and jetties. A small charge is payable for the locks on the Shannon and Shannon-Erne waterway if you travel this far. A smart card must be used for these locks and can be purchased at the Tourist Information Centre in Enniskillen or at the first lock.
Captain’s handbooks and navigation charts are provided on all boats.
Lifejackets and all safety equipment are included. Children’s life jackets are available; please ask on arrival.
How much can I expect to spend on fuel?
This depends on how far and how fast you cruise. On average a boat will use 5 litres per hour. A typical fuel bill for a week’s cruising will be approx £100.
Arrival and departure times
The boat will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 9am on the day of departure. Early arrivals may be possible; please contact us.

What cooking facilities are there?
All our boats have a hob, grill and oven and a full-size fridge. There should be everything you need on board, from pots and pans to cutlery and crockery.
Electricity
All our boats are fitted with 2kw inverters which will power most household appliances less than 2000w. 220-volt shaving sockets are also fitted, which can only be used for this purpose.
All boats have a 12-volt cigarette lighter socket; these can be used to charge mobiles, MP3 players, digital cameras etc. All you need to bring along is the correct 12-volt adaptor.
Radios & TVs
All boats have a radio / CD player similar to a car stereo. To play your MP3 through this you will need to bring your own FM tuner or jack lead.
TVs can be hired for an additional cost. Please note that there is note always very good tv reception on the water. A TV is included in the Inver Empress and Queen.
How do I book?
Bookings should be made via the online booking form.
A deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm the reservation, and the balance must be paid on arrival.
The minimum hire period is 4 nights, normally starting on a Saturday or Wednesday. Please contact us for alternative start days, as this may be possible.
How do I get to the marina from the airport?
We can offer either group or private transfers from any major airport in Ireland.
Can I leave my car at the marina?
Yes, unsecured parking is available free of charge.
Do I need a fishing licence?
A fishing licence is required on the Erne for everyone over 16 and can be purchased from us. Please note this on your booking form and provide us with the names, addresses and dates of birth for anyone in your party fishing, and we can have these ready for your arrival.
Can I order food and drink?
Yes, please complete a Grocery List and email it back to us and we will have everything on board for your arrival.
Where is the nearest supermarket and what time does it open?
The nearest large supermarket is in Enniskillen which is approx 2 hours from the marina by boat or 20 minutes by car. It is open 24 hours except on a Sunday when it opens at 1pm.
What else should I bring with me?
Sunshine please!
We recommend proper boating / rubber soled shoes. Please do not bring heels.
Bring your waterproofs and don’t forget sunglasses and sun cream. Suitcases can be left at the marina.
What happens if I break down?
In case of emergency we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How many hours should I cruise each day?
It is your holiday…so go as far as you want. We insist that you run the engine for at least three hours a day in order to charge the batteries and heat the water. This can be done in the marina if you want a day off cruising.
When does the season start and finish?
Generally March – October, but please contact us for dates outwith this.
